Tiera Couch, LCSW

I’m a Detroit native. Retired city girl turned auntie. I enjoy the occasional night out, good food, art, cultural experiences, communing with nature, binge-watching, reading, and traveling. I love to laugh and am known for my sarcasm and dark sense of humor. I’m eclectic in both experience and interests. Just picture a mix between Daria, Hillary (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Meg Thee Stallion.

My clinical experience includes working with diverse populations in private practice, public education, and community mental health. My passion for mental health is rooted in my own experiences with trauma and anxiety. I believe so many of the issues we face are rooted in our history, environment, and societal pressures. Growing up in Detroit sparked a specific interest in helping my community work through “Hood PTSD” a term I coined to describe post-traumatic stress disorder specific to trauma exposure in urban areas. I founded “Unfcked Therapy and Wellness” to offer an unfiltered space to be unapologetic and unlearn harmful thoughts and patterns that have you FCKED up.

I take a relatable and collaborative, clinically inclusive, decolonized, and empirically grounded approach to practice. I see you as an individual, a whole person, so ultimately the approach I use is unique to each client. My primary goal is to provide a safe and validating space for you to show up as your true authentic self. Unfcked Therapy and Wellness specializes in working with adults who have historically marginalized identities and are healing from childhood trauma and/or managing anxiety.
